Sanibel Island - J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge
Over 6,400 acres of mangrove forest, seagrass beds, cordgrass marshes, and hardwood hammocks. The refuge provides habitat to over 220 species of birds.
The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is part of a larger area: the Caloosahatchee NWR, Matlacha Pass NWR, Pine Island NWR, and Island Bay NWR
that totals 8,000 acres.
